San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) has once again been entrusted by the Supreme Court with a significant national role, having been designated as the National Headquarters (NHQ) for the 2026 Bar Examinations—the third time the institution has been given the distinction.
As NHQ, SBCA will serve as the central command center for the nationwide administration of the Bar Examinations, coordinating critical operations that include logistics, the security of examination materials, and the overall conduct of the examinations across all testing sites.
The designation reflects the Supreme Court’s continued confidence in SBCA’s institutional capability and professionalism. Associate Justice Samuel H. Gaerlan, Chairperson of the 2026 Bar Examinations, said the appointment speaks to the Court’s trust in the institution and to their shared responsibility in upholding the integrity and rigor of the legal profession. He emphasized the need for vigilance, care, and accountability in the administration of the examinations.
In addition to serving as the NHQ, SBCA has been selected as one of the official testing centers in the National Capital Region, joining 14 other institutions across the country. The College will therefore take on both a national administrative role and a direct role in the conduct of the examinations.
The partnership between SBCA and the Supreme Court was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed by Acting Chief Justice Marvic M. Leonen, Associate Justice Samuel H. Gaerlan, SBCA Rector Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB, and School of Law Dean Atty. Ulan Sarmiento.
The 2026 Bar Examinations are scheduled for September 6, 9, and 13, 2026, and are expected to draw a record number of examinees. More than 14,000 applicants have registered, making this year’s Bar the largest in the history of the examinations.
For San Beda College Alabang, being chosen once again as National Headquarters is a significant responsibility and a recognition of the trust placed in the institution. The role places SBCA at the center of one of the country’s most important professional examinations and reflects its continuing contribution to legal education, professional formation, and service to the nation.
