The San Beda College Alabang community gathered on May 25, 2026, for the 3rd St. Bede Festival, honoring St. Bede the Venerable, the College’s patron saint. The annual celebration brought together faculty, administrators, alumni, and staff for a day of prayer, fellowship, and thanksgiving, drawing inspiration from the life and legacy of the renowned Benedictine monk and Doctor of the Church.
The celebration began with a Eucharistic Mass at the St. Benedict Chapel, presided over by Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB. The Mass was followed by a solemn procession from the chapel to the SBCA Football Field, as members of the Bedan community joined in prayer and devotion. At the SBCA Rotunda, the image of St. Bede was blessed, while participants were welcomed by a vibrant performance of the traditional Karakol, bringing a distinct Filipino cultural expression to the festivities.
The day continued with community games and a fellowship meal (salo-salo), giving faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni an opportunity to share in a spirit of camaraderie and Bedan fellowship. The festivities came to a joyful close with a fireworks display.
Now in its third year, the St. Bede Festival has grown into a meaningful Bedan tradition. It brings the community together in honoring its patron saint and remembering the values he exemplified through a life devoted to learning, faith, and service. Through prayer, fellowship, and shared celebration, the festival keeps alive St. Bede’s example of wisdom, humility, and faithful service—values that continue to guide San Beda College Alabang in forming competent professionals, committed Christians, and responsible citizens.
