San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) marked an important step in its continuing efforts to strengthen labor-management relations with the formal signing of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) covering the years 2024–2029.
The signing followed a collaborative negotiation process between the School Administration and the San Beda College Alabang Employees’ Association. The agreement reflects their shared commitment to dialogue, mutual respect, and the common good. It also provides a framework for sustaining a positive working relationship between management and employees as they continue to work toward the mission of the institution.
In his message, Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa expressed his gratitude to the representatives of both management and the Employees’ Association for their dedication throughout the negotiation process. He spoke of the agreement in the context of justice and peace, principles that uphold the dignity of every person and help build a stronger community.

“As a Church institution, we all work towards the establishment of God’s Kingdom,” Fr. De Villa said, emphasizing that the school’s mission is rooted in safeguarding human dignity and freedom while remaining faithful to its Christian calling.
The Rector also reminded the Bedan community that collaboration goes beyond the provisions of an agreement. It requires a shared commitment to the Gospel values of charity, selflessness, and service. He encouraged everyone to continue working together in good faith, inspired by Christ as the model of love and guided by the Benedictine tradition of Ora et Labora—pray and work.
Invoking God’s blessings upon the agreement, Fr. De Villa expressed his hope that the Administration and the Employees’ Association would uphold the CBA with sincerity and mutual trust, while remaining committed to the Benedictine culture that unites the school.
The signing concluded with both sides reaffirming their partnership and recognizing the importance of cooperation, open dialogue, and mutual respect in building a workplace where members of the Bedan community can contribute meaningfully to the mission and vision of San Beda College Alabang.
