San Beda College Alabang celebrated a moment of pride and triumph as the SBCA Taekwondo Team, fresh from their remarkable victories in national and international competitions, paid a courtesy visit to Rev. Fr. Gerard de Villa, OSB, on February 28, 2025, at the Rector’s Office.
The event was more than just a celebration of medals and trophies—it was a heartfelt tribute to the hard work, dedication, and collective spirit of the Bedan community. The team was warmly welcomed by Fr. Gerard, who commended the athletes for their discipline, perseverance, and outstanding performance, which truly reflected the core values of Bedan excellence.
Accompanied by their esteemed coach, Mr. Ricardo Santiago, and their ever-supportive parents, the athletes expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support they received throughout their journey. Coach Santiago’s expert mentorship and tireless dedication were highlighted during the gathering, as he continues to play a pivotal role in molding the athletes not just as champions in sport but as individuals of character.
Fr. Gerard also recognized the vital role of the parents, calling them the “silent pillars of strength” behind the team’s success. Their presence at the courtesy call symbolized the unity and encouragement that have been instrumental in empowering the young athletes to aim higher and achieve more.
The SBCA Taekwondo Team’s recent accomplishments have not only brought honor to the institution but have also inspired the entire Bedan community. Their fighting spirit, discipline, and commitment stand as a shining example of what it means to be true Bedans—champions in both heart and action.
