San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, faith formation, community engagement, and institutional development through a series of outstanding achievements in the past quarter. Across various departments and offices, the institution has made significant strides, reinforcing its Benedictine values of Ora et Labora—prayer and work—while embracing innovation and inclusivity.
A Community Rooted in Faith and Service
SBCA remains steadfast in its mission to nurture spiritual growth and deepen community bonds. The Center for Campus Ministry (CCM) led various eucharistic celebrations, including the Sto. Niño Festival, Ash Wednesday Mass, and recollections for students and faculty. The Benedictine Identity and Mission Office (BIMO) strengthened faith formation through programs such as We Serve, Satio for Tertiary Schools, and Tara G! The Science of Gratitude, instilling the Benedictine values of faith, leadership, and service.
In a display of community outreach and social responsibility, the Institutional Community Involvement Center (ICIC) spearheaded impactful initiatives, including CODE RED Disaster Relief, a Medical Mission to Mangyan Communities, and the Prison Teaching Ministry. These programs underscore SBCA’s role in fostering compassion, generosity, and social change.
Academic Excellence and Research Innovation
SBCA continues to be at the forefront of academic research and scholarship. The Research Unit co-organized the 1st Consortium of the South (CotS) International Faculty Research Conference, showcasing the work of faculty and non-teaching personnel on contemporary academic and ethical issues. The 26th Faculty Research Forum and multiple student research colloquiums also provided platforms for scholars to present their work, reinforcing SBCA’s commitment to knowledge advancement.
Meanwhile, the Graduate School took significant steps toward PACUCOA accreditation for its MBA program, ensuring high standards in postgraduate education. The School of Law (SOL) upheld its reputation for excellence through its moot court victories, legal research endeavors, and community outreach initiatives such as Bayang Bedista 2024.
Empowering Student Leadership and Well-Being
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) strengthened student engagement through programs such as the Bedan Leaders Congress, Mr. & Ms. San Beda 2025, and Tinig Laya 2025, fostering leadership, creativity, and campus involvement. Meanwhile, the Counseling and Career Development Services (CCDS) provided mental health support, career planning, and peer mentoring programs, ensuring holistic student development.
At the Integrated Basic Education (IBED) and Technical High School (THS) levels, students excelled in leadership training, technical skills development, and research competitions, reflecting SBCA’s dedication to nurturing young minds for the future.
Cultural, Artistic, and Athletic Triumphs
SBCA has also taken bold steps in promoting arts, culture, and sports. The Center for Performing Arts (CFPA)captivated audiences with theatrical performances, musical showcases, and choir workshops, including the Sacred Sounds Workshop and Musical Instrument Blessing. The Museum and Archives curated remarkable exhibitions, including the “Images of Faith” Trillana Ecclesiastical Art Collection, the Borloloy Exhibit, and Olympus II: Odessa by Janos Delacruz, drawing appreciation for history, faith, and artistic expression.
On the athletic front, Bedan athletes triumphed in PRADA, Metro Manila Basketball League (MMBL), WNCAA, and PRISAA competitions, securing championship titles in basketball, volleyball, futsal, swimming, chess, and street dance. These victories highlight SBCA’s dedication to athletic excellence and student development beyond the classroom.
Strengthening Institutional Growth and Innovation
SBCA has made significant improvements in digital transformation, infrastructure, and quality assurance. The Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) enhanced learning management systems, cybersecurity, and digital tools, ensuring a seamless online learning experience. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) expanded its digital library collections, subscriptions, and research tools, supporting faculty and student academic pursuits.
Additionally, HRMO’s adoption of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) has modernized employee records, timekeeping, and recruitment processes. The Registrar’s Office and the Quality Management System (QMS) Unit streamlined academic compliance, accreditation preparations, and institutional documentation, reinforcing SBCA’s commitment to excellence and efficiency.
