From International Victory to Local Triumph
Fresh from their international success, four Grade 12 students—Andrew Ahmir A. Alangcao, Irah Jeene Casil, Dane Marianne Justiniano, and Ben Alfonso Raphael Singanon—continued their winning streak by clinching the championship at the Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM) Robotics Fair 2025 under the Entry Level Prototype Category. In addition to being declared champions, the team also received the Best Presenter Award.
The three-day fair, held from November 26 to 28, carried the theme “From Innovation to Impact: Robotics, AI, and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development.” San Beda College Alabang participated in the High School division, presenting their award-winning invention known as Project PALAD.
Project PALAD: “The Future in the Palm of Your Hands”
Project PALAD is a biometric scanner that utilizes palm data for user identification and verification, offering potential applications in security, education, and access control systems. Designed with both functionality and social relevance in mind, the project stood out for its accuracy, innovation, and real-world usability.
Andrew Alangcao, Grade 12 STEM-Engineering student and Project Leader, shared the deeper meaning behind their journey:
“Being part of the Muntinlupa Robotics Fair was a powerful reminder of the privilege I have, to explore, learn, and innovate in a field that not everyone gets access to. Events like this reinforce the responsibility that comes with privilege: to keep learning, keep adapting, and use what I have to help build a better, more inclusive future for others.”
Representing SBCA on the National Stage
Following their victories, Team PALAD continued to bring pride to the Bedan community as they represented the school at the PhilEd Conference 2025 at the SMX Convention Center, Manila, through a collaboration between First Eduspec and Rex Education. The students showcased their prototype under the powerful project theme “The Future in the Palm of Your Hands.”
Guided by their coach, Sir Paul Michael M. Samar, the team demonstrated how young innovator-leaders can contribute meaningfully to the evolving narrative of Philippine education and technology.
A Testament to Bedan Excellence
The consistent success of the San Beda College Alabang High School Robotics Team—from the international arena in Jakarta to national robotics fairs and educational conferences—stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and formation of future-ready learners.
Through dedication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, these young Bedans continue to show that global competence begins with strong values, disciplined work, and a passion to serve through technology.
Animo San Beda! The future is bright—and it is being built by our students. 🚀
