San Beda College Alabang’s School of Business, Accountancy, and Management (SBAM) enters the new academic year with a renewed sense of purpose, energized by recent strides in academic identity, organizational leadership, and student-led innovation.
Building on a tradition of excellence, SBAM continues to foster a vibrant academic environment through interdepartmental collaboration and dynamic student engagement. The annual SBAM Week remains a unifying event, highlighted by the symbolic transition of leadership from the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) to the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), reflecting the School’s commitment to continuity and student empowerment.
Student organizations are poised to play an even greater role this year. The Junior Bedan Marketing Association (JBMA) continues to champion hands-on learning and social involvement, with ongoing initiatives inspired by its recent partnership with Marillac Hills. JPMAP’s innovative activities, such as the HR Carnival Amazing Race, help promote teamwork and visibility across the SBAM community.
The Junior Financial Executives Institute (JFINEX) brings both recognition and inspiration after earning 4th place nationally in the KitKat University Break Challenge. Its balance of academic excellence and values-driven service sets the tone for what student leadership can achieve. Meanwhile, the Bedan Entrepreneurs’ Society (BES), newly revived after six years, enters the academic year with momentum, ready to launch events that bridge entrepreneurship, civic awareness, and innovation.
The Junior Bedan Law Circle (JBLC) is building on its advocacy-driven approach with programs that spark conversation around justice, governance, and public service. JPIA continues to lead with a strong emphasis on ethics and excellence, laying the groundwork for more expansive academic collaborations in the year ahead.
As leadership transitions take shape within the School, SBAM welcomes incoming Dean Dr. Andres Ignacio C. San Mateo, Jr., succeeding Atty. Juan Ruffo Chong, who now assumes the role of Director of Tertiary and Graduate Education. With a strengthened academic foundation and a community of engaged students, SBAM is well-positioned to elevate its impact in business education and leadership formation.
