San Beda College Alabang (SBCA), August 6, 2025 — In a strong push to empower the Filipino youth in nation-building, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), led by Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia, launched a “Special Register Anywhere Program” today at the St. Maur Auditorium of San Beda College Alabang.
Organized in partnership with the Bedan Entrepreneurs Society, this special one-day registration drive aims to provide easy access for eligible students and first-time voters to register without having to leave the campus. The event runs until 4:00 PM and is part of COMELEC’s nationwide effort to encourage greater youth participation in the democratic process.
Chairman Garcia, joined by fellow commissioners, officers, and staff, personally addressed the Bedan community, emphasizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the country’s future.
“The young people is the true voice of the nation,” Chairman Garcia said, noting that in the last national elections, nearly half of the 82.3% voter turnout were members of the youth sector. “Through your votes, you are in control of the future—for in your hands lie the future of this nation’s democracy and progress,” he added.
Students and staff welcomed the initiative, which allowed many to register for the first time conveniently and securely on campus.
The Bedan Entrepreneurs Society, one of SBCA’s active student organizations, expressed pride in being a part of this civic initiative. Their partnership with COMELEC demonstrates a commitment to not only business innovation but also to social responsibility and nation-building.
COMELEC’s campus-based registration drive reflects its broader mission to reach out to new voters and strengthen democratic engagement—starting with the nation’s youth.
