On December 6, 2024, San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) ushered in a bold new era for its Center for Performing Arts (CFPA) with the grand unveiling of its rebranding during the event “All is Calm, All is Bright: A Christmas Concert and Grand Launching of the New CFPA.” Held at the Fr. Roberto De Jesus Auditorium, the night brought the SBCA community together in a dazzling display of talent, holiday spirit, and a transformative milestone in the institution’s cultural journey.
Founded in 2007, the CFPA has long been a cornerstone of artistic expression at SBCA, providing a stage for students to discover and hone their creative talents. After a hiatus beginning in 2013, the CFPA returned in 2022 with renewed purpose and energy. The grand launch on December 6 was not only a celebration of the CFPA’s revival—it was a bold leap forward in its mission to provide world-class artistic experiences while nurturing homegrown talent.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the CFPA’s new identity, a rebranding initiative spearheaded by the Creative Department of the Center for Performing Arts under the leadership of Creative Director Cedrick Marquez. More than a visual update, this rebranding symbolizes a deep commitment to artistic innovation, creative excellence, and a bold vision for the future of the performing arts at SBCA. The new logo—sharp, modern, and meaningful—captures the CFPA’s ambition to rise as a leader in the field, reinforcing its position as a premier venue for cultural expression and enrichment.
This transformation extends beyond aesthetics. The CFPA’s core artistic groups—the SBCA Chorale, Theater Guild, Symphony Orchestra, and Dance Company—are undergoing a comprehensive reinvention. Each ensemble is adopting a refreshed identity aligned with the Center’s contemporary vision, elevating the standard of performances and setting the stage for greater influence both within and beyond the SBCA campus.
The event’s official tagline, “Be part of the legacy,” resonated deeply throughout the evening. It served as both an invitation and a challenge: to honor the past while boldly stepping into the future. The rebranding is a declaration that SBCA believes in the transformative power of the arts to shape creative, compassionate leaders ready to impact the world.
The Christmas concert itself, “All is Calm, All is Bright,” showcased the CFPA’s diverse talents and the vibrancy of its rebirth. Performances by the SBCA Chorale, Dance Company, Symphony Orchestra, and Theater Guild offered a breathtaking display of artistic synergy and passion. Each act reflected not only the performers’ skills but also the heart of the CFPA’s new era—an era defined by creativity, growth, and the pursuit of excellence.
This grand launch affirmed that the CFPA is not merely a space for artistic performance—it is a beacon of inspiration, where students can explore their creativity, challenge artistic norms, and contribute to a legacy that will continue to thrive and evolve. Through this rebranding, San Beda College Alabang has not only reimagined the CFPA—it has redefined what it means to be an institution where the arts are central to shaping the future, one performance, one artist, and one vision at a time.
