Today, September 12, San Beda College Alabang stands united with the entire Benedictine community in the Philippines in a profound celebration of the Solemnity of Our Lady of Montserrat. 🌹
On this blessed day in 1895, a group of Benedictine monks brought with them an image of Our Lady of Montserrat as they embarked on their mission to Surigao. This sacred image, crafted with love and devotion, remains enshrined and venerated at the Benedictine Abbey in Manila. For over a century, Our Lady of Montserrat, the Titular Patroness of our Abbey, along with the Sto. Niño de Praga, has been a guiding light and protector for the Benedictine community.
In 1991, her Solemnity was officially moved to September 12 to mark the historic arrival of this image in the Philippines, transforming the date into a deeply meaningful occasion for all Benedictines. As we celebrate today this significant and sacred event, may we be reminded of her unwavering presence in our lives, interceding for us and guiding us toward faith, hope, and love. 🌹♥️
