REFLECTIONS ON THE WORD (Mk 10, 13-16)
The Feast of Sto. Niño is a unique feast of the Philippines because our history and our faith is connected with this devotion. Every Filipino who shows veneration to the Sto. Niño recognizes that our Catholic faith is symbolized by this kingly image of the Child Jesus.
Jesus gave importance to children when he said: “Let the children come to me; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Acceptance of God’s Kingdom like a child implies sincerity, simplicity, humility and trustworthiness. According to Jesus, these virtues guarantee our entrance into his kingdom.
Do we have a child-like devotion to the Sto. Niño? Can we see the image of Jesus in every child? What are we doing in order to evangelize the youth and form them to be Christ-like? Viva PIT SEÑOR!
