Mark 9, 30 – 37
In a world where the “Me first!” mentality dominates, we often witness the drive to be ahead in every aspect of life—whether on the road, in school, at work, or even within our communities. This mindset feeds the desire to be the best, the most recognized, and the most entitled. Yet, true greatness is not found in being first, but in humility and service.

As we reflect on the gospel today, we are reminded of the deep call to humility and service. Jesus’ act of welcoming a child, a symbol of trust and innocence, teaches us to approach life with a heart open to God’s will and the needs of others.
Learn these three simple but powerful steps: Stop—pause and reflect; Step back—recognize that life is not a race; Step aside—allow others to shine and succeed. In doing so, we follow Christ’s example of putting others first and living with a heart full of love and humility.
