HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

This school year 2020-2021, the High School library comprises two units: Junior High School library for Grades 7-10 and Senior High School Library for Grades 11-12. Both libraries serve as the central source of knowledge, equipped with relevant and updated print and non-print materials, multimedia equipment, and outstanding information facilities that will best transmit the philosophy and objectives of the school in action, and with competent and service-oriented personnel to support that institution’s quest for excellence.

HISTORY

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

In 1977, the Benedictine Abbey School opened its High School Department. It was also around this time when the school began its acquisition of the library holdings and equipment for the high school library. The High School Library back then shared a wing with the Grade School Library.

By School Year 1978–1979, the new high school building was inaugurated. High School Library found its home in the new building at Room 314, 3/F, center wing of Christ the King Building. By School Year 2017-2018, the High School Library was renovated, making it more conducive. The renovated Junior High School library was blessed and re-opened last July 31, 2019.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Senior High School Library opened last 2017. It is located on the second floor of Our Lady of Montserrat Building, occupying seven hundred fifty (750) square meters.

The Library’s design provides a space for conducive learning. It is a learning hub for the school community that would encourage teachers and students to collaborate, communicate, share, and prepare for the future.
