I. GUIDANCE CURRICULUM Provides guidance and counseling content in a systematic way to all students Purpose: Student awareness, skill development, and application of skills needed in everyday life A. Guidance Class Applicants must have the following documentary requirements in .jpeg or .pdf format: The Guidance Class is designed to provide activities where students can learn and acquire personal and social development skills, academic management and achievement, career planning development, and awareness and improvement in the community. The activities in Guidance Class include group dynamics, storytelling, slide/film showing, role playing, games, etc. and other similar process-oriented activities. Note: For Academic Year 2020-2021, special lessons were implemented for Guidance class that would help students cope better with the challenges brought about by the pandemic. |
II. INDIVIDUAL STUDENT PLANNING Assists students in planning, monitoring, and managing their academic, career, and personal/social and development Purpose: Development and use of Personal Plans of Study A. Individual Inventory The counselor gathers information that can be used as a basis on which students are helped. Each student is provided with a cumulative folder where all relevant data are kept and updated. These are used as references in providing assistance to students with manifest needs. Information is gathered through the following:
B. Information The information service is a way of disseminating the different guidance services through seminar-workshops, symposia, bulletin boards, social media, and other descriptive materials regarding the program's thrust and relevant topics to students' needs and concerns.
C. Testing The students are given psychological tests that would help counselors gain insights into the specific and immediate problems and needs of the students.
D. Placement and Follow-up It is the process of assisting the students in the smooth and proper movement of students to the receiving level. It facilitates adjustment of new students to the psychosocial and academic demands of the levels admitted to, and to assist students as they move up to the next level.

III. RESPONSIVE SERVICE Addresses the immediate needs and concerns of students Purpose: Prevention, intervention A. Counseling The counselor helps each student understand himself, his environment, the process of change, and promote successful adjustment through counseling sessions.
B. Routine Interview The counselor calls students on a one-on-one basis for Routine Interview. This enables the counselor to gather important information about each student. Records are kept for future use. Routine Interview may also serve as a springboard for counseling. C. Referrals Counselors assist students who are referred by faculty, administrators, and parents. Referral is the assistance rendered to students in obtaining services from other people or specialists that might help them more effectively. Close monitoring and collaboration between the counselor, client, and stakeholders are needed to secure the efficiency of the service D. Consultation and Collaboration The counselor consults and collaborates with teachers, administrators, and parents in order to exchange views as to the best way to help the student.

IV. SYSTEM SUPPORT Includes program, staff, and school support activities and services Purpose: Program delivery and support A. Professional Development The counselors undergo professional development programs that will assist them in implementing the guidance and counseling services. Counselors hold membership in accredited guidance and counseling organizations as well as attend seminars and workshops regularly. B. Research and Evaluation The counselors make studies that could be of value to the office and the Counseling & Career Development Services clientele. They also evaluate ongoing programs to see potentials for change and ensure that they respond to teachers' & students' needs. Conferences with teachers, administrators, and parents are conducted to assess possible areas for study, which could assist in the improvement of the educational goals and strategies. C. Community Outreach The counselors undergo professional development programs that will assist them in implementing the guidance and counseling services. Counselors hold membership in accredited guidance and counseling organizations as well as attend seminars and workshops regularly. B. Research and Evaluation The counselors make studies that could be of value to the office and the Counseling & Career Development Services clientele. They also evaluate ongoing programs to see potentials for change and ensure that they respond to teachers' & students' needs. Conferences with teachers, administrators, and parents are conducted to assess possible areas for study, which could assist in the improvement of the educational goals and strategies. C. Community Outreach Counselors participate in different outreach activities related to the field, such as giving counseling sessions to the victims of calamities, stress debriefing, and psychological first aid. D. Game Hour (for Grade School) After class, students may come to the Counseling & Career Development Services to play board games during the Game Hour session. This provides the student with the opportunity to visit the CCDS office, thus allowing for informal interaction between the counselor and the students. It provides the students with a place to unwind and take respite from the academic demands of schoolwork. |
V. OTHERS / ANCILLARY SERVICE It is the process of assisting the students in the smooth and proper movement of students to the receiving level. C. Home visitation Home visitations are conducted to follow-up students who are habitually absent that may be experiencing major personal concerns. D. Linkages with Parents Counselors coordinate with parents and alumni in planning relevant seminars and other guidance related activities. |
VI. SPECIAL PROGRAMS A. I Belong Program This activity is given to all new students in different grades at the start of the school year. The program will assist new students in their adjustment to a new environment. B. Listen to My Heart The program is conducted in cooperation with the HSFACO Family Council of the Junior High School. The aim of which is to bridge the gaps between parents and children. Invited parents acted as resource speakers. Counselors, Level Coordinators and advisers are key persons in implementing the said program. C. Tween Spot Girl and Boy Talk – a program given to Grade 6 students designed to help them understand and cope with physical and emotional changes during sexual maturity. D. Bedan Life Skills A focused group discussion is provided to students which aims to help them gain necessary skills to enable them cope better with the demands and challenges in life. E. Kapwa Gabay The Kapwa Gabay is an outreach program of the Counseling and Career Development Services Office. The goal of the outreach program is to deliver guidance and counseling services and activities to the adopted community of CCDS. Activities for the adopted community include interviews, counseling, psychological testing, group facilitation, and program development. Moreover, it is also focused on guiding other stakeholders in the Bedan community by gaining access to various services. |
