San Beda College Alabang’s campus was alive with vibrant energy as Tertiary Schools’ Integration 2024 roared to life last August 30, welcoming new Bedans with open arms and an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and school pride. This year’s event, themed “Pagyamanin ang Pamana: Ang Pinaglalaban Mo, Itutuloy Ko!”, set the tone for the school year, encouraging students to honor their heritage and commit to the legacy that has shaped the Bedan identity. The festivities were a vibrant celebration of both tradition and forward-looking ideals, creating a sense of unity and pride that echoed across campus.
The day’s festivities opened with a showcase of talent by the freshman class, a display that embodied the dynamic Bedan spirit and enthusiasm. From lively routines to powerful chants, each group brought their own style, adding a unique energy to the day. The iconic Bedan Indian yell, performed by the freshmen, reverberated through the crowd, filling the campus with excitement. The yell, a cherished tradition among Bedans, served as a high-energy starting point that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Among the standout moments of the event was the unforgettable performance by the Bedan Psychological Society, who took the stage with intensity and passion that captivated everyone. For the third consecutive year, the Psychology students were crowned champions of Integration, a testament to their hard work, creativity, and dedication. Their performance paid homage to Lapu-Lapu, showcasing the courage, resilience, and pride that are hallmarks of Filipino heritage. Each movement, each expression was a tribute to the indomitable spirit of our national heroes, bringing their legacy to life with vigor and emotion. This performance was not only a celebration of Filipino identity but also a reminder of the strength and courage that define us as a nation. Congratulations to the Bedan Psychological Society—you deserve an encore!
As the event transitioned into the afternoon, students continued to celebrate with traditional Filipino attire, presenting dances and Tagalog songs that explored themes of history, love for country, and cultural pride. The performances were a colorful and moving tribute to the richness of Filipino heritage, reflecting the spirit of the event’s theme and reminding everyone of the importance of remembering and honoring the past. These displays of cultural pride and patriotism resonated deeply with the audience, leaving many with a renewed sense of appreciation for their roots and identity.
“Integration isn’t just about welcoming new students; it’s about reminding everyone of the history that unites us and the responsibility to carry it forward,” shared by Ms. Roma Sedo, Dean of Student Affairs, who has overseen these events for many years. This year’s Integration brought together student organizations SBAM, SET, and SASE, whose collaborative efforts ensured a seamless and memorable experience for everyone involved. The level of organization and teamwork was evident in each activity, from the performances to the decorations, making this year’s Integration one to remember.
Beyond the entertainment and celebration, Integration 2024 served as a powerful reminder of the values that Bedans hold dear—excellence, unity, and respect for heritage. Events like this reinforce the sense of community within San Beda College Alabang, emphasizing the importance of tradition while inspiring students to move forward with purpose and pride.
With unity, passion, and purpose as its foundation, Tertiary Schools’ Integration 2024 has set the tone for a meaningful school year 2024- 2025. As Bedans, we are reminded that we are part of something greater than ourselves—a legacy we are honored to uphold and a future we are excited to shape. “Herald the Bedans coming, may our fellowship never cease!”
