“Pagmamano” is a traditional Filipino practice that shows respect and affection for elders or for those in authority. It is done simply by placing the elderβs right hand on oneβs forehead, as a way of asking for their blessing.

Beyond the home, this tradition is also observed here at San Beda Alabang, where students practice “pagmamano” with their teachers as a sign of respect. Through “pagmamano”, we carry forward a tradition that celebrates respect and connection across generations.

Letβs continue to uphold this unique Filipino tradition, so that future generations can learn and appreciate the values of respect and obedience as a vital part of our cultural heritage.
